White Shores Construction

Project: The Gate Keeper

Location: Etchinghill, Kent
Duration: 2 weeks
Completed: March 2026

The story

This is a Grade II 16th-century pub located in Etchinghill.

We were asked to view the side wall, that was in danger of collapse.  This section of the wall had to be removed, a new oak beam fitted and a new oak post scarfed into the original post.  The side of the building was propped and the gas meter moved to enable the works.

Original Tudor bricks were sourced, and the lime mortar was professionally matched.

A temporary decorated stud wall was installed in the pub restaurant to keep it operational during the 2 week programme of works.
